Prof. GD Puri, Chairman, BID-Hub welcomed the delegates and elaborated on the objectives of this event. He stressed that this Hub is going to provide a common platform for engineering as well as medical scientists to develop indigenous and affordable technology for the benefit of Indian health care problems.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER, Chandigarh. Mr. RK Verma IAS, Principal, Secretary, DSTE, Punjab Govt., the ‘Guest of Honor’ at the symposium, shared his vision about how to extract maximum output through the various centre of excellence established in the region and the whole nation. He also shared the Punjab Govt. mission to make the region an innovations based technology Hub.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) experts coming from various top tier academic/research institutions and industry; Biomedical Instruments certification experts from the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) shared their experience at the event. The event concluded successfully with an interactive discussion with the presented delegates’ with a vote of thanks by Prof GD Puri.

As a part of ‘Make in India’ initiative, BID-Hub is working towards the development of novel biomedical instrument within its premises lead by Prof. GD Puri and Prof. Joseph. L. Mathew under the umbrella of PGIMER with the support of DST.

One-day Symposium Focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Certification of Biomedical Devices

“An Intellectual Interchange among Researchers and Medical Practitioners”

30-September-2019; 9:00 AM onward; Free Registrations

The integration of artificial intelligence and robotic technologies towards healthcare delivery has become a topic of increasing interest for researchers, developers, and clinicians from healthcare industries worldwide. It is foreseeable that artificial intelligence will be the main approach of the next generation of how we access and responds to disease.

The explosive number of artificial intelligence algorithms and increasing computational power of computers has significantly extended the number of potential applications for both the medical practitioner and the user.

Since it has also brought new challenges to the artificial intelligence community, by this symposium we aim to provide a platform for young researchers to share up-to-date scientific achievements in this field.
